Little one’s favorite cartoon and why you love it too

Have you ever asked yourself why you suddenly love your sweet child’s favorite cartoon?

We often see our children grab their teddy-bears to sit close to the screen and listen attentively. At times they sing and dance along with the cartoons, and this gives them unexpected joy. As a mom, seeing my child dancing and singing with the cartoons makes me very curious.

My curiosity drives me to sit next to my little one and watch too. I didn’t think I will love the cartoon she was watching because of the age difference. However, it turns out I like them.

They are educative:

Cartoons such as Coco melon teach children ABCD, counting 1 to 10, nursery rhymes, and animal sounds. It is so amazing to see a non-schooling child learn to count, and sing songs I learned from my teacher. Besides, children learn good vocabulary from cartoons, and so can you since there is no limit for learning.

They represent society: Cartoons teach things that we have to practice, or can’t do without in our community, for example, leadership, compassion, family, and the meaning of friendship. Sofia the First, Princess Elena of Avalor, and Fancy Nancy are the few cartoons that will teach both of you the power in love, social life, and leadership.

They teach parenting skills. A friend of mine confessed learning parenting tips from cartoons her daughter loves most. She would probably act and raise her child-like 1980’s African moms, but thank goodness she is not. Bluey, Connie, and Dot are good cartoons that will help you change your parenting style more especially for first-time moms.

Cartoons are entertaining in nature and most of the parents use them to distract their children as they do house chores, read a favorite book, or have an adult talk. However, if you one time pay close attention to your child’s favorite cartoon you will love it, have fun together, and learn as well.
